Hi there,
We have moved into our new house in Keysborough which is a new development into an existing estate (Solsbury Fields AKA Somerfield.
I looked online to find out what Internet would be availiable to me and found ADSL2+ was available according to every ISP website I could find, including Telstra.
I signed up to -ISP- and they sent a Telstra technician out to connect the copper to the house, only to find the copper wire stops at the beginning of my street, and Fibre is only cabled up to the properties NEXT DOOR and ACROSS THE ROAD - so he packed up and left.
I've been told that I am unable to connect to this Fibre infrastructure by Telstra because it was set down for the previous development.
This leaves me completely in the dark, 10 steps away from some blue cables in the ground with Internet flowing through them, and unable to utiltse it.
I've been in touch with our Developer and they have advised they have done their part months ago in relation to having Telstra lay the cables.
I work from home 3 days a week and we are without Internet and Phone - I find this to be somewhat irritating considering the houses across the road and beside us have it availiable to them.
I have been given no time frame nor any reassurance of when/if this will done.
Because we are the first house to be occupied of the new houses on the street we are the first to notice this problem.
In approximately 2 months there will be 20+ more households with absolutely no infrastructure to connect to, beside and behind.
It really does concern me that the website says ADSL2+ is availiable, when it is most certainly not - this makes me feel asthough we will be overlooked.
My address is: Stanley Road, Keysborough, VIC 3173
I would appreciate any answers regarding this, and if Telstra are to be cabling this are and have not done so already, if there are any mobile broadband compensations that can be made in this case.
Kind regards,
Jarrett
