Speed dropped after modem change

My broadband is Cable Premium Large with Super fast speed boost active.  The account shows it active.  Until last friday the average download speed was 80 - 100 Mbps sometimes even achieving 108 Mbps.    As I wanted to subscribe to Telstra Air Telstra sent me a new modem "Telstra Gateway Max"  C6300BD-1TLAUS".   Once connected it took two hours for it to activate.    As soon as it started working I did a speed test using the recommended testers.   The speed now averages 16 - 35 mbps maximum.    Telstra connected and went through everything I had already been through all the way to factory reset of the modem, which of course had no effect, the speed remained at a max of 35 Mpbs.  They had me try all sort of things once again I had already tried before calling them.    Connecting via a LAN cable and disconnecting all other devices,  even though prior to the new modem is was irrelevant what else was connected the speed never dropped below 80 ever.

It as if the super fast speed boost is not working,  even though logging into my account states its enabled.  Telstra have arranged a technician ot come out in a week,  even though I am a technician and I have already checked everything this end and cannot fault it.  Foxtel on the same cable seem unaffected.

This speed drop coincided with the change of the gateway routers,  and I am 99% sure its Telstra's end.   I feel I am going to wait over a week for a tech to call and find no issue at  my end.

What else can be done,  what other avenues can be explored to check the fault is not on Telstra's end which I am almost sure it is.   The speed test looks throttled with the speed flat lining at 35 mbps.

cheers
