Okay so my service is usually around 13-14 mbps but as soon as I joined Telstra, every day at 7pm it slows down to 3mbps and wont go back to normal untill 11pm. I called up telstra and verified the problem wasn't on my end, the modem was fine, the connection was fine, the line was presumably fine, my devices were fine. Techsupport reset my line and the speeds went normal until 2 seconds after I hung up on tech support, then it went back to slow. The only plausible reason is that Telstra is throttling my entire town (Bundaberg,QLD) because all my friends that have Telstra have the same problem, how can we stop Telstra from doing this, as with iiNet this never happened and they ran on the same network so it can't be a traffic issue.
If it was just a little slowdown I wouldn't mind, but considering it's 2015 and it slows down to 3 mbps, it's unnacceptable, and I know for sure Telstra is doing this on purpose. NBN will be here in December 2015, if I can't get Telstra to stop slowing down the entire grid while we all still have ADSL2+ then will this problem still happen when we all have NBN? If so, I know for sure everyone will switch from Telstra, the douchbags don't care that we are paying a crazy amount for a terrible service. Please help, but don't try to troubleshoot, just someone give me a way to stop Telstra from doing this.
