Telstra ADSL Activations problem

Hello,

 

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with activating Telstra ADSL as I seem to be having a terrible experience.

I recently moved to a new home and signed up for an ADSL connection with Telstra. They gave me a connection date and told me when I would be connected. The date rolled around and they advised me that I was unable to be connected as the previous tenant had not disconnected their service, and I needed to submit my lease paperwork to them, and I'd be connected within 48 hours.

 

This was on a Thursday, so I submitted my paperwork and on Monday my service connection went live. I used it on all of Monday evening.

 

The next day my internet was not working, I did not have time to investigate, but on Wednesday evening I got around to investigating and my router was reporting that the authentication was failing with my ISP. I checked my username and password and it is correct.

 

I received a letter today saying that my connection is ready to go live and all I need is my bigpond username and password. However I still can't connect, and I've called Telstra and they keep telling me that I should have been connected and it was a mistake and I must wait till next monday.

 

This seems quite ridiculous as i was ALREADY connected, and then they've disconnected me and are making me wait. I have no luck talking to the lovely call centre people who work in "Activations", is there any other channel I can go via to sort out this terrible experience?
