Hi,
I reveived a phone call from a so called representative calling on behalf of Telstra. The representative said that they have received reports that a number of websites have been attempting to hack into my computer and the amount of Error and Warning messages they have received have alerted them and that is the reason for the call. Immediately suspicious, I continued to ask a number of questions and before I know, they had remote access to my computer and showed me the 19,156 error messages. I became increasingly suspicious as they were going around in circles and not really solving the so called issue and I decided to hang up immediately. No banking or personal information was provided, I am very concerned that if myself or my partner uses this computer to gain access to our online banking, they too might have access to our personal information. What do I need to do to ensure our personal information is SAFE.
