Re: Dropouts and waffle from BP tech support

Interesting to say that they can't, I have had Telstra monitor my line before for dropouts, around 12 to 18 months ago (I am in ACT).  I had very similar issues to you, after they monitored for 24 hours and I had about 50 drop outs (admittedly I change the SNR to be quite low to exaserbate the problem so they would do something) they eventually fixed something at the exchange, the pit, or both.  This lead to my internet being glorious for about a year, but the degredation came back quite recently and I am now in the same position as before, actually worse, my connection is stable but I went from 13Mpbs to 2Mbps.  I can't even buffer a 240p video!  Line test show for me that the exchange is fine, the pit is fine, there is a 13Mbps connection between both but something awful is going on in my home.  Not trying to hijaack the thread, I have my own, just explaining that in the past Telstra have indeed monitored my line for drop outs.
