Since moving to our current house some 9 years ago we have battled with slow and intermittant ADSL, but have be suffering from such slow speeds that it is getting near impossible to use our ADSL. I gave in and called Bigponds support staff.
I asked some very basic questions, is there a problem with my line, are you carrying out and maintenance in our area and what is the minimum speed of your service?
The last one seems to the one that Bigpond and Telstra don't want to answer.
So as a paying customer my question to Telstra and Bigpond what is the minimum speed you consider to be acceptable?
I know we can't all have 8Mbps and due to the distance I am from the exchange 4KM we are limited to about 4Mbps.
Can you give me a number that you consider too low and that you feel it would be unreasonable to charge for and that it is not of salable quality?
Do you care?
Is it hinded in some obscure line in your terms and conditions, please high light and send me your KPI's regarding minimum speed.
Regards

PS: Do not send me the standard response your staff reply with restating want can impact the speed and what all the possible maximums are.
