With regards to having ADSL from another provider on a Telstra line. It's actually extremely common - because we own the phone lines. So ISP's that don't offer phone services, get people to take up a line with us, then connect the internet onto that line for their customer. 

So as DrQwerty said - it'll come down to if there are ports available
