Its great to hear someone who knows what they are talking about :-) Right now telstra and optus both say outright its not possible and wont attempt to connect us, but TPG said they definitely have ports available and that distance shouldn't be a problem if we could accept slower speeds... but got back about 12 hours after we'd done the order and said it is the copper lines and out of their control. We had a technician out last year to connect the home line for us because we were told at the time it might be possible by both telstra and optus. He said the lines were good and couldn't see a reason we wouldn't be able to get adsl. But a few days later they said no and refunded the connection fee for us because they said it wasnt possible. Is there a way to know that they are definitely the issue? What is a pair gain system?
